Thread an asteroid field, punch through a hollowed-out rock and take down the Gora processor in the free demo of Starlance, a PS1-style rail shooter.
Starlance is a 3D rail shooter built to look the way the late-90s consoles did: chunky polygons, wobbling vertices and scanlines. The lane never stops moving, so you steer, shoot, roll and boost through whatever is waiting ahead, with your wingman ECHO-7 calling it out over the radio.
What's in the demo
Sector 04, the Belt: three stretches of asteroid field, from sparse to thick All four ships, each with its own guns and secondary weapon Armed asteroids, fighter patrols, drone swarms and a hollow rock you fly straight through The Gora processor, with its own boss theme A high-score leaderboard
A tip from the cockpit
The big drifting rocks can't be broken. Shooting them only wastes time, so brake or weave around them. And when ECHO-7 tells you to line up the bore, aim for the hole and keep your finger on the trigger, because something is about to come out of it.
The Marauder you're chasing turns up partway through. Hit him while he's there.
